The compelling work of Unitarian Universalism today is to recognize the lived experience of people and ideas that have been systemically marginalized. I believe this effort will eventually lead to a deeper understanding of our common humanity. Navigating our path to that deeper understanding includes encountering pain, but more than that pain may be the most powerful tool we have to build that connection.
