If someone’s biological father is absent or unavailable\, they will often seek out other men to fill the “Dad Gap.” These surrogate fathers can be as important to a person’s development as “real” fathers. We will celebrate both types of father figures\, and also reflect on what can happen when a father is distant or emotionally unavailable.

Yes\, that can sound a little scary\, as people worry about losing themselves in that other person\, but the truth is that this type of love can put us more in touch with who we really are than new love ever dreams of.
