MqtUU Hosts Room at the Inn

Our week hosting Room at the Inn, our local homeless shelter, ended Sunday, February 5. We averaged 17 guests each evening. We provided safe, warm shelter and delicious, home cooked meals. We also played in euchre tournaments,m provided legal and medical advice, built resumes, completed job searches and shared camaraderie. This is the best kind of Faith in Action & it was a huge endeavor. THANK YOU, everyone, who helped throughout the week run very smoothly. THANK YOU MqtUU, for taking on this important cause. “Room at the Inn is an interfaith coalition of churches sharing the mission to provide support and shelter for the homeless in the Marquette area. Room at the Inn is a rotating shelter, moving weekly to one of twelve different hosting churches. The shelter is run and staffed by volunteers and funded by contributions from the community. The underlying goal of Room at the Inn is to provide an opportunity for guests to focus on life transitions without the worry of finding food and shelter. Room at the Inn serves Marquette area residents but will consider referrals from neighboring social service agencies on a case to case basis. Prior approval from the shelter director is needed for non area guests before admission.”  http://roomattheinn.org/
